An Isofix car seat base is essentially a fixed anchorage system that securely attaches a child’s car seat directly to the vehicle chassis. Unlike traditional methods that relied on seat belts alone, which can be prone to incorrect installation and slackness, an Isofix car seat base provides enhanced stability and reliability. If selecting a height-based car seat, please make sure it is EU approved. Check for the orange label showing a capital ‘E’ in a circle and ‘R129’. Weight-based seats are grouped by weight brackets or “Groups”. Make sure you pick only EU-approved weight-based child car seats. These too have a label showing a capital ‘E’ in a With a seat belt. Place your car seat on the seat of the vehicle (rear facing), making sure the base of the seat is firmly touching the seat of the car and isn’t tilted. Pull the vehicle waist belt through the seat belt holders on either side of the car seat and insert the belt into the buckle. Pull the longer part of the vehicle seat belt The BMW 3 series has 3 ISOfix seating positions, 2 in the rear and one in the front. Table of Contents show

Apr 8, 2009. #2. My Merc doesn't have them but if they are anything like the ones in my other car then you would need to replace the rear seats for one with the cut outs and also add the actual fixings to the car's structure. They are also only fitted to the left and right rear seat, not the middle position.
What is ISOFIX? ISOFIX is an internationally standardised car seat fitting system. It automatically locks your car seat – or car seat base – onto two metal clips (ISOFIX fixing points) between the vehicle seat of your car. No need to use the seat belt anymore.*.
As long as your isofix car anchors fit the isofix points on the seat (some dont - so much for standards) then Isofix is the way to go, other fitting methods are rarely done properly and subsequently not as safe as you think. Take your car and child to a place where they will let you try them in the car.----- Using an Isofix child seat instead of a three-point belt-connected one has a number of advantages. The main advantages are simplicity and a far lower possibility of installing the seat incorrectly. Before Isofix became commonplace, it was discovered that parents frequently installed child seats improperly. We also need ISOFIX for 3 car-seats. I'm seeing loads of lovely converted vans with funky beds in the back, but not many where it converts to a bed but is isofix when in seat configuration. So my question is: is it possible to have a van which converts to have a bed in the back but with isofix on the seats? Thanks for your help! 1. Not all cars have ISOFIX. Source: www.motorama.com.au. Not all cars come with ISOFIX car mounting systems (especially older models) so it is critical to make sure that your car model is fitted with ISOFIX before embarking on your ISOFIX car seat search. 2.How do I know if my car seat has ISOFIX? Car seats, seat belts, and seat belt anchorages vary dramatically between cars. Car seats have different shapes; some seat belts are shorter than others, and some anchor points are further forward or have shorter stalks than others.
