yes you can play split screen all you have to do is make another user on the ps3 i did it last night with a mate, just created a user and left it as the default name then started the game it said something about the user needs to sign up to psn but i just pressed X and it let us play

Many people don't realize that if you don't let a game re-compile once you install it, it will end up installing files all over the hard drive. and has to search for the bits and pieces. if only there was some sort of management you could run on
